The business need
The core rental management platform needed to support an increase in business activity. Scaling the technology and the operating workload were connected concerns.
My contribution
I led the ground-up redesign of the core rental management system on Azure. The architectural work created a scalable foundation for the business’s next stage of growth.
What changed
The platform enabled a 300–400% increase in order volume and 3× growth in the customer base, without additional operational staff to manage that increased scale.
The scalable platform also enabled fuel services to expand from an auxiliary offering into a primary, marketable revenue stream.
Why this work matters to me
Architecture is a business decision as well as an engineering discipline. I care about the capacity it creates: the activity a company can support, the opportunities it can pursue, and the work its people can handle.
